About Me

My name is Clayton Chew. I’m a Kuala Lumpur-based techie and a design advocate.

I have deep passion in software/web technologies and user experience design. You could say i’m a huge nerd for tech and design.

When I’m not working, i love exploring new technology to tinker with.

Things I Value

Never Reinvent The Wheel

Users spend most of the time on other sites. This means they expect your sites to work the same way as others would.

Instead of reinventing the wheel, we can leverage on their existing mental models and create superior product in which user can focus on their tasks, rather than learning new models.

Honesty is the best policy.

Transparency is key to user’s trust. Deceptive approach in getting users to do something for the sake of business gains hurts reputation in a long run.

Good product is honest, applying the principle of honesty (and ethics) provides an experience that is clear, straightforward, and rewarding.

Innovation comes from diversity of thoughts

The key of any successful product is having a diversity of thoughts. Allowing differing opinions and viewpoints helps foster an environment where “out-of-the-box” ideas can be heard.

Sometimes best solutions can be found simply by listening more rather than thinking hard for one.
